Smokin' Q-tips

We have come to realize that infants are a lot like dogs. They drool everywhere, they have a few "tricks" they can do and they crawl around with things hanging out of their mouths. Madison is a very oral kid and loves to walk around with one thing in her hand and another in her mouth - today she found some q-tips to "smoke"!

Leg Laps

Madison apparently loves "walking" in circles these days!

Grocery Shopping

After a weekend of traveling Madison got home and discovered there was nothing at the house to eat so she went grocery shopping. She has pretty good taste - Triscuits and Honey Bees!

Fun in Wilmington

These are just a few randoms that were cute from our visit this weekend!
1. Madison loving on Tasha
2. Madi feeding Jac some lunch outside.
3. Madi and Aunt Jac getting their traditional picture

Easter Sunday

For Easter we went to spend the weekend in Wilmington with Aunt Jac and Uncle Mike. They were great hosts and we had a lot of fun playing tennis, eating good meals, laying out, eating good meals, playing corn hole, watching movies and eating good meals! Did we mention eating good?? Mike and Jac definitely made sure we did not starve and took us to all of our favorite places to eat. We also enjoyed an Easter morning service at their new church.

Tub Surprise!

You just never know what this kid is going to do. She never ceases to amaze us!

Aunt Molly Spoils Madison

One of the great things about being here in Raleigh is that Aunt Molly is just a few miles away. She loves to hang out with Madi and always has something cute for her when she comes to visit. Here are some "pre-easter" pictures in one of the dresses Molly got her.

First Birthday with Daddy

Mommy and Madi went to the Fresh Market to get Daddy some of his favorite candy for his 29th (yikes!) birthday! Madi even wrote hima sweet card - she is so stinkin' smart!

Copycat

Madison loves to copy us now. She will shake her head back and forth, fake cough and even laugh when you do. Enjoy the show!

Yummy Cheese Balls

Whenever we have Crusade events and there is leftover food Daniel and I usually take it home since we are in charge. So this week at our house we have a bunch of chex mix, skittles and cheese balls! We've discovered that Madison can put away some cheese balls. She can also put away grapes, crackers, yogurt and applesauce - but not too many vegetables. We are working on that!

Spring Cleaning

While Madi took her 2 1/2 hour morning nap, Daniel finally agreed to clean out his closet and get rid of the t-shirts he no longer wears. His closet has become a bit out of control as you can see. For a "pack rat" he did a pretty good sorting job! By the time Madison finally woke up I had moved outside to clean out my car. Daniel brought her out to give me a hand!

My New Ride

Madi's sweet cousin Kate gave us some of her old toys recently. Madison really loves the car. Look how intense her face is as she pushes it around the room - think she is going to be a little competitive?? She hasn't quite gotten the hang of riding on it yet!

Looking For Squirrel's Nests

Some friends of ours have a little boy who loves to find "squirrel's nest" - little nooks that are almost too small for you but that you can fit into. Well Madison is apparently into these too!

Our Little Park

One of the joys of living in our house is that there is a park literally 10 houses down from ours and they even have baby swings. Of course Madison likes to watch the other kids play more than she likes to play herself! Yesterday Daddy came down and suprised us!

Tennis tot

Daniel talked me into joining an all guys tennis league with him and 10 of his friends. They promised to babysit during my matches so that I could play. Madison has been quite the sport hanging out on the sidelines during my usual 3 set long matches. She has lots of mosquito bites to show for it! On a personal note (and much to my shame) - I have threatened to quit the league twice already as my competitiveness and perfectionism have gotten the best of me. It is hard realizing that I am not the athlete I once was but I am trying to be ok with that.

Accidents happen

We are just getting to the age where accidents begin. Yesterday at the park Madison found the steps of the dinosaur and fell and busted her lip or tongue or something - I never really could figure out what was bleeding. Today her hand slipped down the side of the tub as she attempted to stand and she fell on her back. She was fine both times after just a minute or so - I think she was more scared from my reaction than from the actual accident. I better get used to these kinds of things! Since reading in the tub is a bit complicated, Madison prefers reading a good book after her bath!

3 words down, thousands to go!

Madison has officially mastered three words - "cracker", "dada" and our latest addition - "uh oh"! It is so fun to begin to hear her sweet voice. Of course its mixed with a bit of fussing as her 5th tooth is coming in and causing her some pain. We just try to keep her good and distracted! One of her favorite distractions is her walker. Unfortunately our hallways are not very long so she does quite a bit of crashing and turning around! If you are wondering why there is an antique bed in the middle of our den it's becuase my talented husband is trying to sell his latest woodworking project - pencil post beds. Let us know if you are in the market for one!
