NC State Fair
Let me prefece this post with 2 thoughts:
1. I am so thankful Uncle Mike and Jac made the daytrip down here to go with us
2. Daniel told me it would be a horrible idea to go to the fair on a Sunday to which I calmly replied (in my everything always works out for me mentality)"how bad can it be?"
Daniel's sweet Bible study gifted us with fair tickets, ride tickets and a lot of money to spend on food this year...it was the least stressed I had ever been at the fair since I was having to decide what one item I was going to spend my $8 on...we just treated ourselves to whatever (not completely) our hearts desired - corn dogs, fried potato chips, cotton candy, chocolate milkshakes and Daniel even bought himself a $5 glass of lemonade cause he was so thirsty!! So we sure ate good but it sure was crowded. Its already kind of a gross place and then you add that many more people to it and it kind of makes you crazy. Madison of course loved it and wanted to do every ride by herself - often insisting for us to not watch her - like we would ever take our eyes of her at that place!
Oh Ash
Everything is more fun when Ash is around...yesterday while driving to dinner she said she saw a giraffe...when I asked her if it was 6 feet tall she said no - it was "weell hooge"...last night at dinner, a fried asked Ash how old she was and when would she be three...thinking she would tell her her birthday she answered "when I get a widdle biggaw"

Day Visit
I am thankful that our immediate family lives only about an hour away - it makes a shirt day trip totally worth it. Purple and Vma came down last weekend to watch Madison's soccer practice - which mostly consisted of her crying and saying that everyone was being mean because they were taking her ball away. Then, we got to take them to their first NC State Crusade tailgate - we introduced them to some really good BBQ, sweet tea, hushpuppies, fried apples and banana pudding. Thanks for coming to visit us!

The Zoo
Finally made our way to the Asheboro Zoo...Gigi took us on the most perfect day - I think there were only 30 other people there! Madi's favorite part was watching the ocelot eat some kind of bird they had thrown in her cage. Ash's highlight was - it's late and I cannot remember right now but I will get back with you on that...
Age
We went home to Greensboro recently to help celebrate Daniel's grandparents 65th wedding anniversary and 90th birthdays! I can only hope the Lord grants me that much time here with my family and that I would get to meet my great-grandchildren! Dave (Daniel's brother) made a surprise visit in from Central Asia - it was fun to catch up with him and makes us super excited for time with their whole family next summer!!! Audrey and her cousin Charlie also got to spend a few minutes together!
