Blacky

Our last stop before getting back to Raleigh was Nashville, TN where we stayed with our friend Todd's family. We got there too late to go 4-wheeling but we did get to see Blacky the bull!

Heading Home from Colorado

I think I might have already shared this in another entry but Daniel's parents let us borrow their mini-van for our trip this summer and it was such a blessing to us. We were able to bring everything we needed for the summer and more!! While driving and trying to entertain Madison we found some of Grandma Bass' sunglasses - a bit dated as you can tell. The funny thing was that the tourqouise glasses were so old that they are actually back in style right now! After finding them, we actually got out of the car to eat and this teenage girl walked by us with almost the exact glasses on - it was hilarious!

Last weekend, Daniela nd some guys came over to our pool for some "pool ball" while I got to hang out with their sweet wives...here are some shots one of the girls Natalie took - thanks Nat!

Sweet and Not-So-Sweet

Madi has really done a great job with Ash and loves to help take care of her. If she is crying, she likes to climb in bed with her and sing "Jesus Loves Me" to her. She is definitely still a bit rough at times though. If you watch closely I am pretty sure she is about to bite Ashlyn's foot right before the video cuts off - yikes!

Funny Kid

I so wish I did not have "mommy brain" where I remember everything for a few minutes and then forget it becuase I would have so many funny stories to tell you...here's one that happened only a few hours ago so I will share it with you before I forget...so our power went out today and Daniel needed to take a shower after working out so I lit these 3 votive candles in the bathroom and put them on the back of the toilet...well, a few minutes later Madison woke up from her nap and walked into the bathroom and says "what we doing, we having a birthday party?"...at first we were confused because we were going to a Luau Party that night that we had been talking about all day but quickly realized that she just assumed the lit candles meant it was some kind of birthday party...also, last night I had a really bad migraine and she helped take care of me (in her sweet little 2-year old way) and now today anytime we have asked her to do something she does not want to do she has said "I don't feel well, my head hurts" - I guess we will have to talk about the importance of honesty soon! The pictures you see here are Madison enjoying my old discman from college that we found cleaning out our desk the other day - she thinks that thing is so cool!

More Matching Clothes

Thanks to our sweet friends Candice and Kelly the girls got some more cute, matching outfits. Again, getting a good picture of them together is close to impossible. Let me know if you got any tricks!

Bye Bye Brennan

One of Madison's best friends Brennan just recently moved across the world to East Asia. We met them at Sno-Balls for our last time together for a whole year - sad! At least they are so young they don't really understand what that really means.

Trouble #1 and Trouble #2

It just depends on the day which one is trouble #1 and which is trouble #2 but either way when they get together you are pretty much guaranteed there will be trouble! Avry came over the other day and they kept putting on their bookbags and purses and would walk out the front door yelling "ok we'll be right back, we're going shopping" and then they would go outside and walk around the yard. It was really funny til I looked outside and Avry was walking around in the cul-de-sac with her little partner in crime close behind.

Sweet Baby

Matching Dresses

Great Grandma Joanne - my stepmom's mom - sent the grls these beautiful matching dresses. They got to wear them to a recent wedding and both looked so cute. Of course getting a picture of them together in them was a nightmare. Madi was in a bad mood cause she missed her naptime during the wedding and Ashi of course cannot hold herself up yet so she just looks a bit awkward in every picture!! You can tell by the last picture with Daniel that they were both done!

Sisters

They are still doing really well together except this week Madi has decided it is really cool to stick her fingers in Ashlyn's eyes - not very safe so we are having to keep a pretty close eye on them when they are alone together...but overall Madi really loves on her and Ashlyn loves watching Madi and smiling at her!

Colorado Highlights

Tattoos were a real highlight of Madi's summer..she got new ones all the time...she also loved riding in the cars at the county fair...about everything else at the fair besides the bouncy things and the train totally freaked her out - maybe next year!
