Last of the Baby (for tonight!!)

A few special visitors have stopped by to meet Audrey...Uncle Jon, Aunt Margot and baby Charlie and Daniel's 89 and 90 year old grandparents - and they ven drove themselves down here - amazing!!

Even More Audrey

Ash on the other hand is a mess...I kepp calling her my little wrecking ball...everything she touches breaks, gets dumped out, rips or is thrown all over the place....she has no idea how rough and strong she is and really means no harm to Audrey (most of the time) but just does not know how to control her own body...I bet Daniel and I have said the words "slow" and "gentle" to her about a hundred times in the last 4 days! She has truned into an absolute mess - an adorable mess - but a mess none the less....

More Audrey

The last couple of months whenever anyone asks Madison about her new sister/brother and how she is going to help she always answered that she was only going to help me hold the baby...and she was not lying...she absolutely loves holding Audrey...she takes it very seriously and really does a great job...she loves to stare intently at her and study all the details on her face...whenever people come over to visit she asks me if she ask them when they are leaving so she can get Audry back...we have been talking about how that's sweet to care about her sister so much but it's rude to our guests...

Audrey

We really need to keep working on her name...Daniel and I call her "Ashi" all the time and whenever anyone asks Madi what her new sister's name is she looks at me real sweet and says "Mom, can you just whisper her name to me I forget"...at the hospital my mom kept calling her "Austin"...I hope as we get more used to having her around we will get more used to her name - the poor 3rd child!!

Introducing Audrey Lee Bass

After just a 2 day wait (from our due date), I woke up last Thursday morning to contractions that were 1-1 1/2 minutes apart...after making the bed, having Daniel take the trash out, getting all the wet pool stuff from the day before out of the van to dry, Daniel finally convinced mt to get in the shower...he knew things were moving fast and so did I but for some reason all those things "needed" to be done before we could leave for the hospital...we put a call into the doctor to tell him how close the contractions were and that it was our 3rd child and that I generally have quick labors - I thought for sure he would call right back and tell me to hustle in but he never called...after about 45 minutes I called him back to see what the deal was -apparently I had left him the wrong number - way to go Mikel! Daniel was slightly freaked out at this point because we still were not at the hospital and contractions were coming every minute not to mention we had no gas in our car. Of course, calm, cool and collected me insisted it was no big deal to go ahead and stop and fill up on our way to the hospital...I think Daniel put like $2 in the car and then hurried us on...I was 5cm when wea rrived and the nurse told the doctor I was "cookin"... after an hour of pretty hardcore contractions I received an amazing epidural and turned into chatty cathy...we loved our nurse and our doctor and had all kinds of funnny conversations with them...after sending my parents back down to wait for a few hours so we could decide on a boys name in case that's what we had the nurse checked me and I was already 10cm...after three good pushes we got to see our long awaited suprise - MISS Audrey Lee Bass....our 3rd girl despite what everyone thought! I could not have asked for things to go any better and we are loving having her home.

More More Recital

Post recital was a different story....after the cookies and juice were gone it was meltdown city for Madison...does anyone else think our oldest girls look just like their Grandmas?? Madi and Linda look identical and Ash and my mom have the same hair color and hiar cut right now...who in the world will Audrey look like - maybe one of us??

More Recital

Wizard of Oz Ballet Recital

Madison could not wait to get dressed for her first ballet recital and she was super excited that Gigi and Grandma Bass got to come down and watch too! Once she decided to take her hands out of her mouth after the first few minutes on stage she did a great job! Daniel was a great Dad and had flowers waiting on her for after the show.
