Poor Ashi spent most of her time buried in the flannel blanket but we "let her out" for a little bit when we got to the lake. I forgot to mention earlier that the first part of Madi's trip in the backpack was only because Daniel kept playing games with her where she could win skittles. At first he told her if she saw a squirrel she could have one and then he felt bad because there were no squirrels in there he just did not want her to eat too many skittles. So then he told her if she heard a bird she could have some at which our friend David who was with us immediately made bird noises so she could get a skittle. Next he resorted to "I spy" where he asked Madi to find something orange, red, etc - Daniel did a great job keeping her busy and distracted while we actually made some progress on our hike!
